WOW! WHAT A WAX MUSEUM!
We read biographies. We researched famous, important and influential people and then we became these people. The fourth grade annual Wax Museum was phenomenal. Everyone's script captured the most essential parts of their lives and they all looked the part. Take a peek for yourself

BOLD BREAKOUT EDU!
We got the chance to tackle another Breakout challenge. Breakout is an activity where students get clues to solve the code to unlock a series of locks. They need to work as a team to find solutions and persevere. BreadkoutEDU focuses on critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity~ The 4 C's. We love it!

TAG YOU'RE IT!
We surprised Mrs. Murphy's class today by "tagging" them. We recited a poem to their class (click below to see us in action) and now they are IT! They have to memorize a poem and tag another class (or even us again). That class has to memorize a poem and then "tag" someone else, and so on. Let's see how far it can reach.

WHAT A CHARACTER!
What a Character!
4K is learning about inner and outer character traits. To introduce this idea, we used Disney Movie characters. Students worked in groups to identify character traits such as brave for Harry Potter and happy-go-lucky for Olaf. What a fun way to learn!

BOOK CLUB BOOK TRAILERS!
4K started book clubs earlier this year. First, students selected a realistic fiction book to read. Then, students who picked the same book got together once a week to discuss their reactions, questions, predictions and connections during our reading period. The students were eager to get to their book clubs each week. They really enjoyed this independent reading time.
We wanted to do something to convince others to read these books, so when the books were completed, each group planned and created a book trailer using the i-movie app on the i-pads.

SKYPE AND SEUSS
Today our class got a real treat.
We Skyped with about our favorite "Seussism" with Mrs. McCarthy's second grade class at Steward School. The students took turns sharing their favorite Dr. Seuss sayings and books and telling why they liked them.

It was fun to see that even though we are in different grades, we liked some of the same quotes. |

One popular quote was "Today you are you, that is truer than true. No one alive is youer than you." |
