MARVELOUS MACHINES!

 Thanks to TESPTO we had a fabulous enrichment program. The focus was on engineering skills and simple machines. Mr. Mankita brought in tons a materials and allowed the children to construct their own Rube Goldberg machines. 
Students spent two hours fully engaged, trying things, failing and trying again, over and over. This program was on the outside about physics, but covered so much more. Children learned to learn from failing, learned to persist and learned to work as a team.

Hour Of Code

We spent time stretching our brains and flexing our coding muscles during the Hour of Code. Some of us designed games, made dance moves and videos. It was a great experience!

Remarkable Renewable Energy!

Change is Simple brought renewable resources to life in 4K! We got to build wind turbines that actually lit up lights! Then, we measures the energy produced by solar panels using real solar panels and meters.

WOW! 4K was outstanding as they presented the Preamble of the Constitution to the student of the Proctor School. The video came out in two parts for some reason. So be sure to click on both to see it all.

BRAIN BUILDING!

4K is all about building our brains! We love challenges, problem solving and stretching our brains. We got the chance to really put this to the test with BREAKOUT.EDU this week. These puzzlers give us many opportunities to think outside the box and practice perseverance.

KINDNESS COUNTS

The students of 4K wanted to spread kindness throughout Proctor School.  Together they made a banner with large letters spelling KIND and they wrote on it ways they would be kind. Then, they posted it in the hallway and asked all students in the school to join them in committing to kindness. They put up a sign that asked, "What will you do to be.... KIND?"
